Love the Eldredge Knot (or my preference - The Eldritch Knot), and this is a great illustration of how to tie one. You can also watch my tutorial here.

Today’s Style: Part 8 of the Disney Villains challenge from sassystraightfriend. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
- Jacket: Father & Sons
- Tie: Express
- Vest: H&M
- Shirt: Express
- Cufflinks: Gift
- Pants: Express
- Socks: Target
- Shoes: Black Bat Boots from Rivithead
I was at a bit of a loss when I was trying to come up with a suitable outfit for Maleficent. She’s all flowing black robes and purple accents. And there is a sad lack of flowing black robes in my wardrobe. A fact which may need to be rectified. Adding to this is the fact that I used my long black coat for my Frollo outfit and my favorite evil villain coat (Only Shadows Follow Me by Lip Service) for Captain Hook. So I was trying to decide what the hell I was going to wear today to do Maleficent justice.
Luckily, I knew where I was starting, with a black shirt, my raven skull cufflinks and a purple tie. I added my black pinstripe pants because they’re a great base and then stared at my closet. And walked to the coat closet. And stared at it. And walked back. Ultimately, I decided I liked the way my H&M vest and Father & Sons jacket looked together and that the whole outfit worked well. I added my bat boots because they look sinister to me and I love them. For the final touch I added some horns. :)
I hope that, even though there’s not a flowing black robe to be seen, everyone likes this Maleficent inspired look.
